To remember is a gift. At times the act can be painful or playful; terrible or beautiful or a myriad of sensations all at once. These episodes, when assembled chronologically, become a timeline as diverse as a fingerprint, yet reveal themselves to be reflections of the experiences of others.
My work is about reviving, exploring and celebrating memories through mixed medium, interdisciplinary installations.
I enjoy creating and transforming spaces that can connect the viewer more deeply to the art. I use a variety of mediums, recycled and repurposed materials, found and collected objects, lighting and aural compositions to create a more holistic installation experience.
In my personal and school studios, I am transitioning from acrylic paints, mediums, grounds and glues towards traditional mediums and processes that do not consist of or contain plastic or chemicals that are harmful to aquatic life, oceans and other bodies of water.
I do not incorporate or rely upon artificial intelligence as a substitute for any of the equally important stages of the creative process.
I am an artist and art educator from Colorado, working and living in Switzerland and the Pacific Northwest with my wife and high school sweetheart, Vera, and our collective family of boys.
